Tea bag lesson

Hey family so to answer your question the tea bag lesson you light it from the top.

So this week was pretty good, it went by pretty fast, we had an awesome lesson with a former investigator and committed her to come to church, it was a good lesson, her name is Kim and she has two children one is 9 and the other is 14, so we taught her the 3rd lesson and she came to church yesterday, and elder Jensen was giving a talk in sacrament meeting since this is his last week in the mission field, but when he was baring his testimony, she started to get teary eyed, so that was a good experience, hopefully we can meet up with her during this week, and talk to her about what she felt.
We also where invited to go to a Pentecostal church yesterday, some investigators invited us to go,so we did, and that was probably the biggest wast of time in my life, it was just two hours of people standing up and singing along to christian rock songs, and the preacher going off on something and yelling at the top of his lungs, and saying "amen,praise Jesus, and Hallelujah." in mid sentence, so it felt like another way to take the lords name in vain, and nobody spoke in tongues,and the pastor was kinda disappointed cause he said that "you have to prime the spirit before you come to church so you don't robe people of the experience, I think when me and Elder Jensen walked in the Holy Ghost confounded the spirit of the devil,so that's probably why no one spoke in tongues, that's what we want to think at least, but every one was really friendly so that was good, I'm just probably never going back to it. So that was the high light of my week.

Oh and we got transfer calls yesterday and my new companion will be Elder Tarrazas( don't ask me how to pronounce it, cause I'm still trying to figure it out) and they opened a new area , St Clair it is about 30 minuets away, so that will be my new district, and I'm still district leader, I don"t know what God wants me to learn from this.
So I read a pretty cool talk this morning, its called. "Balancing Truth and Tolerance" by Elder Dallin H Oaks and it was pretty good, I think you guys would like it.

Hey family so this week was ok, we didn't have allot of lessons this week because they fell through so hopefully this week well be allot better.
So we where not able to meet with the grandmother and her kids because the kids got the flue that is going around, but the grandmother said that she has allot of questions to ask us the next time we meet, so that's really good, we just have to meet with her before Satan intervenes.
So how the tea bag lesson works so you have to get Begolow tea, they are the only ones that really work, you then undo the stable and empty out the tea, so you re just left with the bag you then have to make sure it is standing strait up on someones hand or some flat surface, it cooler when you do it on someones hand, you then light the top of the tea bag on fire, and when the flame gets close to there hand the tea bag lifts into the air, then you can read ether 12, the scripture that talks about faith.
Well I have to get going we don't have much time to email today.

5 new investigators!

So this week was really good, we found 5 new investigators this week, 4 of them is a family, there is 3 kids and a grandma, the grandma has guardianship over the kids, and they know there bible pretty well for a 7,8 and 9 yr old, we showed them the tea bag lesson, its when we empty a tea bag and stand it up on someones hand and light it on fire,and near the end the tea bag floats off there hand, so we use that with faith and enduring to the end,so they thought that was way cool, oh and get this, we would have never had found them if I didn' have a brother named Roscoe, cause we found a street name that was named Roscoe so i wanted to get a picture with it, so the first door we knocked on was that family, so that was pretty Awesome.
And the other investigators are some formers that elder Jensen contacted while we where on exchanges with the zone leaders.
So that was the highlight of the week, pretty cool huh?
There isn't any thing that I want you guys to pray for specifically, just pray that the Holy Ghost well touch their hearts,
So I did email Jessica today, and the email worked this time so I don't know why it didn"t work the first time.
So if you could can you give me more updates on how the family is doing?, I fell like I'm in the dark out here, how is Roscoe's progress on the mission papers?

New area

Hey family so this week was pretty good so this was has been pretty good, my new companion is Elder Jensen from Price Utah, he is almost done with his mission, and I'm going to be his last companion, so i get to kill him off( missionary lingo for last area and stuff) but he started his mission in Sullivan and now he is ending it here, so allot of the branch member know him pretty well.
So Sullivan is a smaller town than Columbia, there is about 7000 people here.
the branch has about 150 active members out of 300, so there is allot of less actives mainly because they live farther away and not a whole lot of people out here have jobs either so the people here are allot more humble than most people back in Columbia, but the branch is awesome they are all funny and have a good spirit about them, most of them are rednecks and they don't deny it either, and i love it!! :) because i get to talk about guns with them so that's always something that makes me happy :D.
So I am so excited that Jessica got her mission call!!! that is so crazy, can you send me her Email address so that i can con-graduate her.

so I was actually happy to be able to pack up my stuff and move to a new area, i feel like its a fresh start. cause being stuck in a area for 7 1/2 months gets kinda boring and repetitive.
So I am so excited to hear that Jessica got her mission call, she is going to do great there, I can't wait to tell Dayan and Devin we got permission to email each other so I've been emailing them lately .

So I'm glad that dad was able to use that gift card that i got him, i almost forgot about it,
So I'm sorry that Roscoe clipped the car, i know how you feel Roscoe cause i backed up into Jason's car at one point and put the first dent into his car, so try not to beat your self up about it, OK
So it sounds like every one is doing great

"...brand new Elder, straight from the MTC..."

Hey family,

So to start off I'm am not leaving Columbia, in fact they are having me train a brand new Elder straight from the MTC...... I don't really like the idea cause i haven't even been out 6 months, but I hope that I'll do ok. I won't know his name until i get to the transfer meeting so I'll let you all know next Monday.

So it's good to hear that Jason got promoted back up to his rank after he passed the pt test.

If you want my advice on Roscoe's situation, is to don't try to force him to do any thing just show him your guys support and just encourage him and show him your love.

Maybe you guys should start reading the Scriptures as a family every Sunday.

So I'm surprised that you got some new kittens right after Huntress was killed, I  bet Megan is having a blast with them, so what are there names?

Well I hope that every one is having a good week and I'm sorry this email isn't very long cause i don't have much time today as i normally do

"...everyone canceled on us..."

Hey family,

So this week was okay considering that everyone canceled on us :( so that kinda sucked.

Leanne never came to church or to the baptism and he also had to cancel the appointment yesterday so we won't see her until next Sunday.

I'm glad to hear that the Morales are coming to church more often, so are they being taught by the missionaries? So i have some advice for you guys, when ever you have missionaries over always invite them to take off there suit jackets cause we cant take them off without being told by the members, so it really helps keep our suits clean and its a lot more comfortable, so just to let you know :)

Crystal told me that Cassi Haskell is putting in her papers, it's so exciting to hear about when people put in there papers. That's awesome to hear that Matthew is leaving in January cause that is when my companion goes home,

I'm also glad to hear that Jason finally passed his pt test, so what does he have to do to get his rank back?

So how was meeting Roscoe's girlfriend? and what are your guys thoughts toward all of this since he is the first kid to have a girlfriend?

so while I wait for emails I normally just get on LDS.org or Mormon.org and do research.

Cathy's Baptism

I forgot to send this picture of the baptism, so to better explain it the reason why me and elder Bumgardner are both in white is because Cathy has back problems so we used two people in the fount so nothing bad happened and to help support her back while she went under. and the guy in the mustache is her husband Terry. He was able to get off work for a little while so that he could see Cathy be baptized so that's also why he is in his work uniform.

I'm really sorry to hear about Jason losing his job, make sure to fill me in when you guys find out the details of why?

Cathy's baptism went really well we had some really good talks given and the spirit was also really strong there too.

So as for Leanne and her family they didn't watch conference or come to church, but we did have a lesson with them last night and we taught them the plan of salvation and we invited them to Church again and they said that they well try to be there so we well probably end up giving them a call on Saturday to remind them.

So to answer your question about other family members writing me the answer is yes, uncle Bret and his family wrote me a month ago and that was really nice.

So for your comment about the younger sister missionaries. I have already promised myself that I'm not going to marry any one that went to the same mission or any one that is in the mission.

I'm glad to hear that the reception went well, just think Mom in a couple of the next 10 years or so all your children well be out of the house :) and probably married, haha love ya mom.

Matthew got his mission call? that's awesome, do you know when he is leaving?

So I have a question, what is Roscoe's M.O.S in the military again? I keep on forgetting

Well I hope things are going well back home, and I hope and pray that Jason can find a better job
